So I stumbled across this on YouTube last week, and found it intriguing. This guy has been setting up a replica of an early chemistry lab. As part of it, he has created several types of burners, including this oil lamp/forced air "blowtorch", as used in Renaissance-era glass lampworking. In the vid he uses it to melt glass, copper, and other materials, and to fuse an open test tube into a sealed ampule.
