Fero rod handle

I just ordered a 5”x1/2” fero rod today and would like some sort of handle to help hold onto it when striking it. I don’t want a big fancy wood handle. Just something to give me some grip. Any suggestions?

I was thinking of maybe jute and covering it with resin. But I don’t have resin and don’t really know how to do it. Any suggestions would be appreciated, as the outside the box part of my brain is giving me the middle finger.
